National Nikah Register

NikahRegister.co.za is a SAMNET initiative: a centralised, secure and permanent record of Muslim marriages performed at Masaajid across all nine provinces of South Africa.

Nikahs here are usually recorded informally — in handwritten registers, on paper certificates, or not at all. When those records are lost or disputed, a couple has no way to prove the marriage took place, which bears on inheritance, child custody, immigration, pension and insurance claims. The register gives every Nikah a permanent, verifiable, reference-numbered record.

Registration is free for any Masjid affiliated with a recognised Ulama body. Visit the site →
