You have just visited a mosque. Tell us how it went. It takes about two minutes, no name is needed, and it genuinely changes what we do next year.

Fill It in Here

Thank you for visiting. This takes about ninety seconds. No names are needed, nothing is shared outside SAMNET, and you can skip any question.

    Where you were

Not on the list? Just type the name.

    5. How was the length of the visit? (required)

    6. Which parts did you find most valuable? Tick as many as you like.

    What changed

    8. Before today, had you ever been inside a mosque? (required)

    1 = no change  ·  5 = a great deal better

    10. Would you be comfortable visiting a mosque again on an ordinary day? (required)

    11. Would you recommend the visit to a friend? (required)

    In your own words

    13. If you wrote something above, may we quote you?

We will not use it for anything else, and we will not pass it on.

    For Host Mosques

Two things to print before the day. Both are on one PDF — page one is the visitor form, page two is the sheet you send back to us.

The printable version is being prepared and will be linked here shortly.

How to Collect It on the Day

    • Give one person the job. Feedback collected by nobody in particular is feedback nobody collects. One volunteer, a clipboard, a handful of pens.
    • Ask at the door on the way out, not at the start and not by email afterwards. Response rates collapse the moment a visitor is back in the car park.
    • Print the link or show it on a phone. Whichever is easier — the paper forms and the online form feed the same record.
    • Chase the quotes. Two or three sentences in a visitor’s own words, with their first name and their permission, are worth more to the campaign than any number of ticked boxes. The consent question is on both versions; it has to be asked at the moment, because it cannot be chased afterwards.
    • Send it within a week, to info@samnet.co.za.

Why We Are Asking for This

National Mosque Open Day has run every Heritage Day since 2017 and has grown from eighteen mosques to more than eighty across Africa. What it has never had is a proper record of what the day actually does for the people who walk through the door. Visitor numbers have been estimated; visitor voices have not been kept at all. Every quote in the campaign archive is from an organiser or a host.

Two of the questions do most of the work. One asks whether this was your first time inside a mosque. The other asks whether you understand Muslim life better than you did that morning. Read together across a few hundred replies, they answer the only question that really matters about an open day — whether it reaches people who had never been in, and whether it moves them. That is the table we want to be able to put in front of a journalist, a funder, or a mosque committee still making up its mind.

Nothing here is shared outside SAMNET, nothing is sold, and the email field at the end is optional and used only to tell you about next year.
