  • SAMNET Condemns the kidnapping of the Nigerian schoolgirls

The South African Muslim Network (SAMNET) and the Muslim community unreservedly condemn the repugnant kidnapping of the young school girls by Boko Haram. This cowardly act, no matter who perpetuates it, is totally against the spirit and laws of Islamic religion and against the values taught by Prophet Mohamed (peace and blessings upon him).

  • ISIS does not represent Islam

If ISIS didn’t exist, anyone who wanted to promote hate against Muslims or have a poster boy for creating and fuelling islamaphobia would ahve to create them.

  • Mr. Makhathini – APPOINTMENT AS SABC CHAIRPERSON

The South African Muslim Network (SAMNET) congratulates you on your appointment as Chairperson of the SABC Board. There are, however, many concerns and issues that our community has regarding the SABC, including a real perception that the SABC has a very anti-Muslim bias in its entertainment and current affairs content. We would like to meet with you when next you are in Durban. We look forward to positive engagement between ourselves and Board and management in the interest of sticking to the mandate of the SABC to deliver unbiased content in the interests of all South Africans.
